The Importance of Hydration

Did you know that the human body is made up of about 60% water? If you’re losing more bodily fluids than you’re taking in, dehydration can occur.

Staying hydrated is especially important, as it can help to:
• Regulate body temperature
• Maintain healthy skin and joints
• Digest food
• Improve brain function
• Recover following a cold or flu

Drinking water in the summer is especially important, as the warmer weather can cause you to sweat and lose bodily fluids. To stay hydrated, you should drink anywhere from 9-12 glasses of water a day, which varies based on your weight, height and gender.
